Transferring out of top LAC to Ivy League school?

Hi! I'm a current freshman at Amherst College looking into transferring for my sophomore year. While my (albeit brief) experience at Amherst has been excellent, I have found the film studies department seriously lacking. I applied Early Decision, over Tisch, USC etc. despite wanting to become a filmmaker, because I wanted a liberal arts education and was unsure how serious I was about film. But after coming on campus, I have realized that I definitely want to go into film, and feel that the school's film program does not meet my needs. I feel that the curriculum/location of Columbia will provide me with a better opportunity to pursue a liberal arts education AND follow my goals than Amherst would. In addition, more personally, I find Amherst's rural location constricting and want to go to college in the city.

Have people transferred out of top LACs into Ivy League schools? Given my reasons, do I have a chance of getting in?

Yes and yes (if your academic record at Amherst is strong).
