Transferring Schools and Retaking a Course?

Hi everyone.

I just started at the UW this Fall.

I already wasn’t excited about the UW when I got accepted, but to make things short:
-I hate the size of my chemistry class
-I hate the size and people in general
-I commute, but I can’t dorm due to chronic illness (I wouldn’t want to, I’m an introvert)
-I have general anxiety
-Like a lot of other students at the UW, this was a safety school and the best option financially
-I came from a school smaller than the size of my chem lecture (>600 vs <400)

I think my best bet is transferring to Seattle U (shorter commute) or even suffering the commute of attending the Tacoma/Bothell branch to save money. I’d be happier in a smaller environment. I feel like SU is significantly easier to get into, but I have a friend who went there and got into upper tier med school. Bothell and Tacoma have extremely high acceptance rates.

Would med schools look down upon this?

And if I transfer to Seattle U, would they would look down on me for repeating gen chem I?

I only got into this mess because I went to an ultra competitive HS so everyone only cared about getting into top schools. My only options were UW, Cal Poly, and Case Western, but after I got my acceptances, I realized that I should’ve applied to a couple of “lower tier” schools. :frowning: Peer pressure sucks.

If you are unhappy with a school(any school), you can transfer and Seattle U will not lower your chances of getting into a med school, if you do well there. Yes, repeat a class will be looked down by med school, it is better to withdrawal if you can and retake that in another school.
