Transferring senior year, living in dorms?

Long story short, I’ve made the mistake of commuting to a small state school near to my house (former community college) where 90% of the students commute, there are hardly any frats (very small), and there’s really no big parties. I was fine with it the first 2 years, but now as a junior entering spring semester, I’ve just suddenly had such a sudden identity crisis, realizing I have not been taking advantage of my college years and having fun. I’ve not been going to frat parties, to football games, experiencing the dorm life, etc…

  1. Is it possible to transfer to a university away from my home during my (possibly) last year of college? (It might not be my last year, because I’m looking to do a double major or grad school)
  2. Would they let a senior transfer dorm with freshmen?
  3. Would this be too weird/pointless for me to do at this point in my college career? Would it be too late to make friends?

Honestly I’m just so upset about my choices with college, and I want to make a change before it’s too late.

  1. I believe most colleges do not accept transfers past their junior year; they require transfers to complete at least two years at their new school.
  2. This would depend on the school. You should likely be placed into an upperclassman dorm or apartment setting.
  3. You will still be able to make friends, it might be a bit harder through.
