Transferring (Sophomore) into UT Austin?

So I am currently attending Texas A&M University with 34 hours already. I'm currently in business and I absolutely hate it; made a terrible mistake with major selection when applying for colleges out of high school. As a result, my GPA reflects my lack of interest with a lowly 3.0 at the moment. I originally wanted to do Journalism at UT as it was my original selection but later changed it to adhere to my parents wishes. So the question is; do I still have a chance to transfer into UT's Journalism program at this point? I'm quite involved on campus here at A&M, and working a job to help pay for housing (scholarship for tuition). The only "requirements" on their webpage was only to have 30 credit hours- nothing really about GPA. Any help can work! Thanks!

P.S
If not UT- any other colleges in Texas good for Journalism- preferably public.

The School of Communications at UT is very difficult to transfer into, even for internal transfers. I think for the most part UT looks for a 3.4 or better GPA for general transfers, but for Journalism it might be higher. I think if you have ECs within the Journalism or writing fields then it might be worth a shot.

You might look into Texas State for journalism, not as good as UT, but still widely known in Texas.
