Transferring Student

I am currently enrolled at my local community college in Maryland I am taking my basic fundamental math and english classes, I hope to be here for 3 semesters. My basic classes & introduction to marketing and advertisement. After this I plan to move to California. I plan to attend UCLA but for know are there any good community colleges in southern california maybe with housing? Its August 2012 & hopefully by Fall 2013 I would like to have everything situated. I graduated high school in 2011' with a 3.0 GPA nothing special I know. Also my major would be Marketing/Advertisement is there a specific major because I see now that it varies. Any advice would help?

No idea if there are. But understand that UCLA is very competitive, and admission is far from assured. Also, if you are classified as an OOS applicant, good luck getting in. It probably isn’t worth turning your life upside down for a chance to get into a UC.

I think you need to be here for a year to get in state tuition, you should probably try to plan around that so you’re not paying an extra $20,000 in tuition. If you haven’t already, you should check assist.org to make sure you’re on track with pre-reqs and stuff, and that might also help point you to a good CC out here (one with a lot of the classes you need).
