Transferring SUNY schools?

Hi,

I am going to be a senior this coming year and still am trying to decide on colleges.

I want to go to Binghamton but I know I can't get in, my GPA is 3.25 and weighted 3.29. My best sat is 1760 (590 reading, 610 math, 560 writing,) and my first ACT I got a 25, will take two or three more though.

Anyway, I am thinking about going to maybe SUNY Plattsburgh, or Oswego doing really well and transferring to Binghamton and I am just wondering how sensible/possible this is? Is it correct to think that SUNY schools are pretty compatible and transferring credits wouldn't be a problem? Or is it just as tough as transferring in general?

Thanks

When transferring, schools usually take less emphasis on SAT/ACTS, which should help you out if you out if your scores are weak.

You could probably get in to Plattsburgh or Oswego with those scores, although the stats are going up every year. You can transfer from SUNY to SUNY but you should take in to consideration what you want to major in and take either gen ed classes or just basic courses in your major.

My D is at Plattsburgh and absolutely loves it. Binghamton was too big for her, but she has friends who love it as well. My sons’ friend is at Oswego and loves it but my D’s friend transferred out.

Good luck.
