Transferring to CAS vs staying at Gallatin

Hello,
I was recently admitted to NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study, however, I am having doubts about how I will look on a CV or how admissions committees for MBA/masters programs will look at me. If I continue my path and stay at Gallatin, I’m planning to pursue a politics and philosophy concentration (kind of like PPE but most people drop a subject through their career, and I’m dropping econ). However, I feel that it would look better on a resume if I had a BA and minor combination in politics and philosophy. Alternatively, I could try to transfer out of NYU and go to a school that offers PPE as a BA alone.

I would like some input on this dilemma of mine. Should I stay, transfer schools within NYU, or transfer to a different institution?

Thank you,

This is, of course, entirely up to you; however, since you are very certain that there are already programs out there that match what you’re aiming to do, Gallatin may not be the best fit for you! Whether or not that means you should switch to CAS or even another school should not matter too much, but since graduate schools and employers prefer certainty, it is probably in your best interest to switch, especially since there are already pre-existing programs that are out there. It’s a bit late to switch universities now, but you can always transfer after the first year at NYU if you don’t enjoy the school’s atmosphere (but most people do).
