Hello.

I am hoping someone here can shed some light on my question, as I have not been able to get an answer. Counselor at my CC told me that she will try to find out as she does not know herself either.

So I will be transferring to SJSU (upper division) and my question is that do grades (A, B, C, D, F) transfer as well, or do they just give me CREDIT, as long as my grade is "C" or above?

Some people have told me that the classes that count towards my major, will have the grade transferred only.. but SJSU will only give me "credit" for General Education requirements and not show what grade I got with it at my CC.

For example: I want to major in Accounting, and take "Accounting 1" at my CC. The grade I get with it will be transferred onto SJSU's transcript once I transfer.. but the "Art appreciation" class I took will only give me "credit" without having the grade transferred along with it since it counts towards my GE requirements.

So, if I got a 3.5 GPA at my CC, will it transfer to SJSU and I will go from there, depending on what grades I get in my future classes, or will they start me off at 0 and if I get an A in all classes my first semester, I will have a 4.0 at SJSU?

I tried to email SJSU but the person I was speaking to did not understand my question, so could not give an answer. I am hoping someone here can understand what I am asking.

Thank you for your help.
