I currently go to School of Visual Arts in NYC (film major, freshman) and was wondering if I had a chance of getting into Loyola Marymount University film program. I currently have a 4.0 GPA and a pretty good portfolio. Is it going to be hard to transfer?

yes u need a 4.2 high school AND 4.3 first year college for a decent chance

I think you have a good chance with a college 4.0. Make sure you have taken as many required GE classes that are aligned with Loyola Marymount GE and lower division film classes so can transfer as an actual junior and not end up doing another year. It is a very nice school and almost on the beach.

I plan on transferring in as a sophomore. High school gpa was a 3.6 unweighted. I played sports all four years.

“Students who would have been eligible for admission as freshmen to Loyola Marymount University at the time of their graduation from high school will be considered for transfer if they have at least a 3.00 cumulative average for all previous college work and at least a 3.00 average for the most recent college work attempted prior to admission.” dvl2014 what are you talking about?
