I was admitted into Rutgers last year with a 3.65 GPA and 1990 SAT score out of high school,
but I decided not to go because Fairleigh Dickinson offered to give me a full-tuition scholarship.
I thought it would be a good idea to go, but I have grown to hate this school, from the campus itself to the quality of the academics.
I currently have a 3.5 GPA but it should go up by the end of the semester.
It depends of the school you want to transfer. 3.5 GPA may be difficult for the Pharmacy School, Nursing School and RBS. Those schools are competitive and usually filled by people with 3.7+ GPAs. You should be fine with SAS though.
Google: Rutgers Admissions Profile to get the admissions Chart with GPA Midranges.
Yeah SAS looks good to me considering the avg transfer applicant has between a 3.1 and 3.7
I don’t know if anyone on this thread could advise on taking a semester off from FDU and focusing on my transfer app,
but I would love some advice on that!

I see my previous post was held for moderation because of the link and released it later again, sorry about that. Anyway, taking a semester off may reduce your chances of transferring. Rutgers may see that as a lack of commitment with your education and will give the opportunity to other transfers.
I can see why they might think that, but I do want to avoid paying for this next semester at FDU… I’ll probably check with an admissions counselor just to see what they would say.
Would mentioning that I would be looking into volunteering and work opportunities help my case? (Btw, thanks for the help!)
