Transferring to schools that previously accepted

I am contemplating switching from my current UC to a private school in the LA area. I was accepted to USC and LMU last spring, but declined their offers. I am wondering if the fact that I was accepted to these schools (due to strong high school statistics) would make up for a poor first semester gpa at my current UC? It would seem that these schools would still have my application on file. Any thoughts?

Also to add, I was accepted by the USC college of engineering as a Mechanical Enginnering major, and the enginnering school that I am currently attending is ranked very high, wondering how this would affect the situation.

(college freshman here, so take this for what it is worth) I dont think hs will make then gloss over your 1st semester. They might think that you are lazy and had what it took for hs, but not for college. b4 you transfer I would work on showing them you can handle college.
