Transfer from UC to USC

So throughout high school, I took around 6 community college classes and have a 3.8 community college gpa. I’m currently a freshman at UC Riverside and have a low 3.0 gpa. I want to transfer to USC and I am wondering I should put my community college as my college I’m transferring from on the application since I have a better gpa and also add UCR classes, or should I put ucr as the college I’m transferring from. I know I have a little-to-none chance of transferring but hopefully legacy helps a little lol. Thanks in advance for the advice!

You have to disclose all colleges attended and dates. If you leave off UCR, USC admissions will see the gaps in dates. The 6 cc courses you took may not be transferable. USC generally wants transfers to have GE courses (i.e., writing, math, etc.) completed before transferring. The average GPA for transfers is 3.7. Refer to the transfer section in the USC website.

The legacy only helps if you were offered the Trojan Transfer Plan (TTP) when you applied out of high school and you were denied admission to USC. Generally, you had to have good high school stats to be offered that plan. S was offered that last year from high school, met with the TTP counselor at USC last summer, went to a UC, had a 3.9+ GPA and was admitted. He might change his mind and stay at the UC if housing becomes difficult to find at USC, especially the fact that he is doing so well and has many friends at the UC.

Unless you can up your stats and complete most of the GE classes, it will be difficult. You can refer to the USC section in this forum and look at the transfer blogs to get an idea of what stats will get you accepted as a transfer.
