I’m about to start community college, while I was in high I took AP and DE classes and even took classes at my local community college. I didn’t do so well and ended up on academic probation. Now I’m about to retake some classes from my junior year and and want to boost my GPA up. I didn’t get into Richmond during high school, but I really want to go there. Could anyone tips anyone give me tips on how I can get accepted? I know Richmond is very selective when it comes to transferring, only having 60 slots with around 300 applicants.
Hey! I’m an incoming transfer student for the Fall who got accepted in April. My advice to you is to do well in your classes. You need a minimum of a 2.0 GPA to be considered for admission; however, most kids have way above a 3.0 GPA. I think essays are critical as well, especially for transfer students because it gives you an extra prompt on why you want to transfer to Richmond. Be sure to stay involved in your community and school too! I don’t know acceptance rates from this year for transfers (since they are not out yet), but I think typically they admit about 120 for a yield of 60-70 students. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to message me!
