I have recently applied a transfer to the University of Richmond as a transfer. I currently have 3.56 gpa and two rock solid recommendations, I’m a class senator at my current college, debate team, a rape crisis counselor on campus, mock trial team, FBLA member and the admission committee recently asked for my Mid-Term report for my second semester of college to make a decision. I’m making all A+ in all of my classes. Any idea if I have a good to maybe chance to get in an any advice?
I think you have a great chance of getting in to the school. Historically, roughly 300 transfer students apply for 60 spots. You have a very solid GPA, seem to have been involved in a lot of activities, and seem to be well-rounded. The A+ grades put you ahead of most. Best of luck!
@gotthis I didn’t do well in high school I ended up with 3.4 on 5 scale. I hope to show them by the end of my freshmen year I could get back on course and do what I had to do to get it. Thank you!
@DerrickDanielH I applied for transfer admission too. Have you received anything in the mail yet?
Yes. I was accepted!
So excited for you, Derrick. I hope you choose to go there. It is a wonderful school and you will love it there.
Like gotthis, many of us were pulling for you. I, too, am a UR alum. So excited you got into the school!!!
I currently have a 3.1. (Not finished yet) Think I can make the transfer?
Transferring for fall 2016- any tips from those who applied transfer and were accepted
Hey guys,
I am currently a rising college sophomore looking to send out an application to richmond for the spring 2017 semester. I finished my freshman year with exactly a 3.5 gpa. My high school grades are a bit lower then this (3.3 freshman, sophmore, junior and a 3.0 senior year) but I have done plentiful extracurriculars both in my high school years and my freshman year at college. my sat score for CR/Math is a 1160 but I don’t think I am going to send that lower score in. I am extremely active in campus ministry at my college, I drive the vans to get students to community service at off campus locations and also am employed as a student worker for them. During my freshman year of college I was also a part of our schools business and management club, residence hall committee, and have voulenteered at several on campus events. also I played varsity soccer and tennis during my high school years while having a steady 15 hour per week job during the academic year and a 30 hour per week job in the summer. What are my chances of being accepted to richmond as a spring transfer student? Should I stick out another full year to try and bring my grades up more? Or should I apply as a spring applicant being that I hear it is typically slightly easier to get in as a spring transfer student. Thanks for all of your help.
