Transferring to UC in one year?

How can I transfer to UC Davis in one year I’m currently in community college and I’m just wondering If it’s possible and how hard it will be

You need a fair amount of AP credit plus ideally a couple of courses this summer. And then it depends on major. Too many requirements would make it difficult. But it is done.

What if I don’t have AP credits ?

You would need to have 60 semester units or 90 quarter completed by Spring of next year. It’s almost impossible without some previous AP credits or CC credits earned while in HS. If going to a semester CC school, you literally would have to take 12 units in the summer and 24 units in each semester to accomplish this. With prerequisites, most likely not possible.

UCD participates in the TAG program which means a guaranteed admission if you complete all the required courses and maintain a specific GPA. What is your intended major?

The link below will give you an idea based on intended major, what courses will need to be completed prior to transferring. TAG applications are due by September 30th the year before transfer which only gives you a few semesters to meet the majority of requirements.

As stated above, unless you have Dual Enrollment and/or AP credits, your chances of transferring are slim. 2 years at a community college is not a long time so if UCD is your ultimate goal, then follow the TAG program.

I got the same idea 2 years ago. But I gave up because I no way could earn 30 units in the first summer to be eligible for applying. For applying for Transfering in Fall 2020, you must apply in Fall 2019 and must have at least 30 units completed by Fall 2019. Eventually, I have been in CCC for 2 years and graduated a few days ago with 124 units.

^^^ the 30 units by summer is only for TAG.

There are 4 week classes in December and 3 week classes at the end of spring semester where you could take 2 three unit classes each session and get 12 units and lessen your burden one of the semesters. The classes move very fast, but is you have the time to block off then it is possible, but all the pressure could compromise your GPA.
