Transferring to Underwood College as a Freshman or Transfer?

Hi, so sorry, this is going to be kind of long.

So, I graduated from high school year about a year ago. A lot of things went on my senior year, I was all set to take a gap year studying abroad in South Korea, but due to circumstances out of my control, I wasn’t able to go. Freaking out because I was graduating in a few months and had no plans, I applied to UHM and got accepted.
My first year there was awful, I was suffering from severe depression and anxiety (from things not going according to plan, not prepared to university) as well has having family problems back home and not being able to help (constant worrying). I got horrible grades, probably only passed 3 or 4 classes and have below a 2.0 GPA. I finished the year out this past May and didn’t return.
I took a break from school this Fall semester (going to therapy, helping my family out, working part time) and now I’m ready to go back to school.

I want to try attending Underwood International College in South Korea in March 2016, but A) I don’t know if I should transfer as a freshman [because I don’t have enough credits to qualify as a sophomore] B) If they’ll even accept me due to my poor GPA from UHM.
I also wanted to know if it’d be possible to not include my UHM transcripts in the application? I know that this is illegal to do with US schools, but is it the same for international? I also feel like some won’t be able to transfer anyway. Idk, I feel like it’d be easier, but I’m not too bothered if I can’t.

Should I take some CC classes to help raise my GPA? I still want to try applying for the spring semester to see if I can get in, but if I don’t, should I take some CC classes next Spring? Would it even be possible to fix my GPA in such a short amount of time (if I take Spring and Summer classes)?

I was a really good student in high school, honor student, high ACT scores, this past year has NOT been a reflection of how I usually perform academically or even socially (I kind of isolated myself at UHM due to my depression). I just want to put this past year behind me, but I’m afraid that transcript will follow me for the rest of my life.
I know that is kind of a prestigious school (being attached to one of the SKY schools), but now that I know what I want to do and am in a better mental state, I’m very determined to get into this school. I’ll be emailing the admissions board with some of these questions, but thought that I’d ask around here as well.

Thanks!

You need to contact them and ask which application to use. In the US, some colleges and universities would consider you to be a freshman applicant because you have so few credits, but others would require you to apply as a transfer.
