Transferring to USC IMGD from UC Santa Cruz CSGD?

Hi, recently I’ve been rejected undergraduate admission in USC’s Interactive Media program, but accepted to UCSC, UCI and CSUF. Since USC has always been my dream school, I plan on applying again after my sophomore year, once I gain enough transferable credits. So far, I’m leaning towards going to UCSC first, since they have a game design program there too, which might help me prepare a better portfolio next time around when I apply for a transfer to USC.

However, there isn’t any Articulation History on UCSC available on USC’s website.

I guess my question is, will the game design program at UCSC fulfil all the requirements of transferable courses for USC, or should I just play it safe and enter a CC with an articulation history?

Sorry to hear about your rejection. IMGD is very (ridiculously) selective.

USC may have a general articulation process with UC schools, but I’m not sure. I think for your situation you should definitely talk to a counselor.

Not to be harsh, but keeping it real, you may want to prepare a plan in the case that you never get accepted to IMGD. If your first transfer app fails, would you rather be at UCSC, a CC, or at USC in a different major? Food for thought.
