So I'm planning on transferring to UT next fall, but I have a question that I'd like answered. First off, I know that you need 30 hours of transferable credit for admission. However, I'm also aware that if you finish the core curriculum of another Texas institution, then it can completely replace UT's core curriculum. My question is - what if I finish the core curriculum at another school, but in doing so, a lot of those classes don't exactly transfer, or constitute as classes that are transferable, will that mean that despite finishing the core curriculum, I will be denied admission because I won't have 30 transferable hours ?

i would say yea if your total amount of credit hours dont add up to be 30 after they’re done knit pickin at it but i would email admissions just to make absolutely sure because i could be wrong. every university is different with their admissions afterall

If I recall they base it on the number of hours you have taken not the number that will transfer (I was admited with 31 taken but only 20something transferable. This may have been due to the fact that I was taking courses over the summer that would make up the difference). For sure give them a call though.
