Transferring to WPI?

Hi all, I am a freshman student studying mechanical engineering at UMass Lowell. I know it's kinda late, but I have been thinking about transferring to WPI for months because UMass Lowell does not really appeal to me...I applied once last year but was rejected from the waitlist...~3.4GPA for my first semester, active member of several clubs, doing pretty well with my current semester. Do I have a chance of being accepted? And would I need to start as a freshman again if I am accepted?-.-

can anybody help me-.-

3.4 is not bad for WPI, they have a great acceptance rate for transfers.
It is around 50%.
Extracurricular would be really helpful(for ME, robotics or ASME activities), try it again.

But I can remember that you are not supposed to apply for transfer soon after you were rejected. In most cases they would ask you to apply during next semester, not now.

You may continue as a sopho, they have rolling courses so that you’ll find a chance to do first year coursework after getting accepted. (one of the profs told me that during my on-campus visit)

If you have further questions just mail me: majormei1008@gmail.com

hope it helpful  good luck.

I believe it may be too late now to apply. I know they do take transfers halfway through the year. If you can keep your GPA around 3.5 you definetely stand a good chance of getting in. On the downside, I’d imagine you won’t get much merit financial assistance.
