i'm just wondering if transferring twice...that is...after your freshman year and then applying elsewhere after your sophomore year would be viewed negatively as a junior transfer applicant. personally....i'll be transferring to nyu stern this fall as a sophomore but i'm worried that i might not fit in with the city/no campus deal...so im just keeping the options open while giving nyu a shot. just in case i try to transfer this coming spring...this time as a jr. transfer...would the fact that i already transferred once influence in any way the decision?

i may be in a similar situation if i don't get off rice's waitlist. i have to switch schools bc i'm changing majors, but i plan to reapply to rice for the spring....i don't think it could hurt you too much, though...nspeds applied for transferring again this yr and is pretty much rocking everything

Thanks.

I applied twice as a transfer, though I will probably not be doing the second transfer. The first time I transferred from a small college in Houston to Georgetown, and then from Georgetown I applied to UChicago, Rice, and Brown. I was admitted at the former two and rejected at the latter.

Transferring twice does not hurt as long as you are moving up.

Well you probably could have gotten in at UChicago and Rice the first time you transferred, no?

i'm not having much luck. i transferred from a cc to my state university last year. i applied to more competitive schools this year and i'm getting rejections like no other.

I went to the university of wisconsin for my first semester of college. For a bunch of reasons i left and went to a smaller public university in my home state of IL (Eastern IL Univ). In my case, it was probably actually better to have had the UW-Madison listed on my application. It can work in your favor. I'll be transferring my second time this fall to the university of illinois. I really don't think it hurts or helps your app a whole lot, keeping your grades up should be something you worry about more often than this.
