Transferring Universities as a Junior - Is it Better To Have Less Credits??

Hi, I want to apply to a couple top 15 schools as a junior to enter in January. Only a couple of top allow this, so I'm asking this question: is it better for me to have less credits.

I have a lot of credits already, but about 30 of them come from AP credit/classes (and the top schools usually only allow a certain number of credits).

Would it better to have less credits? i'm getting afraid that ill have to many credits, in addition to the fact that I'm going to be a junior, I'm afraid the schools will not want to admit me.

I was planning to take summer classes, but now I'm wondering if it would be better not to take them at this point? Please advise. Thank you!

I don’t see why you’d be better off having fewer credits.

If you have more credits, the colleges that accept you will have a larger pool of classes from which to select the ones that most strongly match their curricula. On the other hand, if you have relatively few credits, you might not have taken the classes that the college wants.

I see, that makes sense. I have another question. I might want to double major in two very different fields. I know I’m already a junior and haven’t decided for sure but I’m pretty sure I want to major in two fields, one from the College of Business and one from the College of Liberal Arts/Sciences. Do you think this will be an issue as a transfer? Should I only mention one major? Thank you for your help.
