I know I'm in sort of a weird situation, so I wanted to get a bit of feedback on which schools I should be considering applying to. (Or, more broadly, what kind of schools anyone with a GED but high everything else can expect to get into).

Basic stats:
GED in Nov. 2009 (scored very, very well, but of course, it's still the GED and still carries stigma)
21 credits at a CC, with a 3.9 GPA
2130 on SAT (740 CR, 700 W, 690 M)
800 on US History Subject test
740 on Literature Subject test
Fairly good extracurriculars (student council, lots of volunteer hours, vp of history club)
History major

I'm looking to transfer somewhere on the east coast, and while I have a faint idea of what level of college I should apply to, I'm not completely sure. Should I apply to higher ranked, more selective schools (like NYU), since my SAT's and GPA fit their demographic? Or should I only apply to less selective schools (like Susquehanna, Depaul, Lake Forest etc.) since I have a GED?

I guess the broad question is, How much does a GED actually affect the admissions process?
