I am trying to transfer back to my hometown to be able to take care of my parents and still finish undergrad. However I got in trouble when my roommates (who I did not know before this semester) were keeping a cat in our room. I never said anything about it because i just needed a place to live. But, in February our RA's stopped by and asked about the cat, my reflex reaction was to say "I dont know". I only said it once and then was completely honest to them afterwards. My school found me in violation of lying to an official and plan to put it on my transcript. Will this affect my chances of transferring home? Do I have any chance of convincing my school to take this off my transcript? It is my first offense and I did everything they asked me to do. I feel that it is silly to mark me as a liar when I wasn't sure how to react to my RA's about a cat that was not mine.
