Hey im just wondering, say i go to another college and i want to transfer to AFA, after how many years in that college can i transfer, i also heard that AFA doesnt accept credits from other colleges, is that true? and also, how hard is it to transfer as opposed to just applying normally in high school?

Please read the earlier thread labeled "transfers". No one actually transfers to the academy. Everyone applies for an appointment and each is judged according to their qualifications and the needs of the service.

The applicantion process is the same for all candidates regardless of where you are in your academic studies. There is no such thing as transferring into a service academy. You cannot transfer credits; however, you can attempt to validate courses.

How come people cant look for similar posts before posting the same question?

I "transferred" from another college. You can do it any year as long as you are within the age limits (I think you can't be more than like 21 before you enter), but most do it after their first year. USAFA does accept credits from other schools, but they have to be equavalent to courses here at the Academy, and that's pretty rare. I wen to a highly competative engineering school in NY, and only 3 of my classes transferred credit. But other than that, it's just like applying out of HS, only you have more to give (instead of only HS stuff, you have to give both that and college stuff). That being said, doing well in a civilian college is supposedly looked highly upon here as a good indicator of success, and that getting at least a 3.5 gives you a real good shot.

(age limit is 23)

I know a few people who came in after a year in college.
