Transferring

I'm currently a freshman at Brown, and if I don't start liking things more second semester I'm going to apply to transfer to a couple schools, Dartmouth being my first choice. Thing is, I dropped one of my four classes due to personal reasons (lots of stuff going on back home with family that was stressing me out), which is OK at Brown, but probably not so good for a transfer app. Additionally, one of the three I'm taking Pass/fail (which, ironically enough, I might get an A in); I would've changed this to a straight grade, but I dropped the geo class after the deadline to change a class from pass/fail to a grade. I'll probably get As in the only two classes I'm taking for a grade, but obviously the fact that I'm only taking three classes can't reflect well. Would I still have a shot at transferring to Dartmouth, or should I just stay here?

Well. no harm applying. And if you don't get in, you stay at Brown and do your best to make it a wonderful experience. Best of luck!

Why don't you like brown?

I'm not going to elaborate, but suffice it to say that it wasn't quite a good match

Give it a shot, I got into Dartmouth (plus Brown, Duke, and WL Harvard) with only a 3.3 from Columbia. They will weight your high school heavily if you did well (which you did since you got into Brown).

slipper, do i have a chance coming from Northwestern with a 3.93, 1470 SAT I, never applied before
