Transferring

I realize that Michigan "prefers" to accept transfers with 2 years of college under their belt, but has anyone gotten in or heard of anyone getting in for fall semester right after their freshman year?

I just completed my freshman fall semester at Michigan State with a 3.75, should I even bother transferring now or wait another year?

You can give it a try. Doesn’t hurt.

I just got in with only 42 credits, which is easily done in one year, including a summer semester. I applied to the College of Engineering.

Aero: By 42 credits you mean you completed your Freshman fall semester and by the end of the summer you’ll have reach 42 credits?

To give some background I applied to Michigan and was waitlisted. At MSU I entered with 16 credits from AP, and 8 credits of college spanish from high school. I took 12 credits my fall semester, and I am taking 14 for spring, so at the end of this year I will have a total of 50 credits at MSU, if that makes sense.

Will Michigan consider this, or will the fact that I only took 12 credits my fall semester, (with a 3.75 GPA), work against me?

I started in the winter term of last year: 16 credits
last summer: 12 credits
this fall: 16 credits
Applied in October and got in for this winter.
