MSU transfer fall 2014

I just applied to transfer to msu and i wanna transfer with 28 credit but right now im freshman. On the website they said you should apply 6 months before desired enrollment. I was wondering how does that work out? do they make there decision before i complete my freshmen year or after, or do they complete it after they see my first semester?

I was in your shoes last year. Now I am a sophomore and have been accepted as a transfer student for Spring 2014. Here’s how I did it. I applied after first semester. I sent them the transcript which included classes I had registered for in the upcoming semester. They reviewed my application and told me they needed to see my grades for second semester. Then I sent in my grades for second semester and was accepted. If you have any questions you can ask me. I am pretty familiar with the process.

Were you originally applying for fall or spring?

Fall, for my second semester I took 20 credits and I missed the last month of school due to multiple family deaths in my birth country. I made it back in the week of finals so obviously I didn’t do too great. My semester GPA was 2.9 so I got rejected, then I asked them to consider me for Spring 2014. I took 8 credits and got a 4.0. Then I sent my transcript with my schedule for Fall 2013 at the same CC. I got accepted in November before they even saw my grades for the semester I’m in right now. Sorry, said I got accepted after they saw my second semester grades to keep this short. I didn’t mean to give you false information.

Its cool, I’m sorry to hear about your family. I was just asking because I might apply for spring 2014 if I’m not accepted for fall 2014. But thank you for your help and I’ll come back here if I have anymore questions.

They don’t have any applications for Spring 2014. You can only be accepted for Spring 2014 If you applied for Fall 2013 and choose to change the semester to Spring or If you were rejected and then reconsidered and accepted. Feel free to ask me any questions any time. My process of being accepted took me like 8 months so I’m pretty familiar with what happens in between.
