Im a transfer..when i submitted the SIR...they asked me to fill out the colleges preferences...but i heard transfer students are automatically put into transfer community...so what's the point filling it out? Please help...

While you will live in the transfer community, you will be affiliated with whatever college you wish. That means you get access to their resources. You’ll go to them for advising and housing things. You’ll also get to go to all of their events, like “college nights” that have themed food and entertainment and are open to only people of that college. :]

So…i can ignore the college preferences and pick my college and i for sure can get into that college?

Almost. They might have a limit on how many people can be affiliated with a college just because their services can only handle so many students. But you won’t have to worry about restrictions due to living spots, that’s for sure.

also…when i submitted my SIR…how come they didnt ask me for 100 dollars registration deposit???

do u come from a low income family?

yaya…how come my friend, also from low-income, goes to UCSB and needs to pay that 100 dollars???

hmm idk does anyone know if a waived fee means we dont have to pay it at all or does it mean it gets taken off our fafsa or do we pay it at a later time?

Leuzinger, my SIR didn’t ask me for a payment, either. I called Admissions and they simply said that it was waved because of something in my application.
