i was afraid of that too, but dont schools usually send the rejections first?

I’m pretty sure it was standard mail… I’m not positive though… I’m still at school so my parents got the letter while I was here. It came in a standard envelope size (I think its about 4 1/8 in x 9 1/2 in). That’s why I was so shocked when I found out what was IN the envelope! I don’t really know what the whole email deal is though…

hey fromaradio

I called the admission office later today, oh nah, yesterday. Mr. Greg (I guess he is the transfer director?) told me they are sending all the notifications by mail this week. However I didnt have the courage to ask if the mail being sent out later on are denied notifications or not… If you do have the concern and such courage, try it.
Bard is my dream school. cant imagine the bad news any more, I will just hope for the best in case that I would have schizoid disorder during such ARTISTIC yet panic process.

okay, okay, cool. i would call myself but im not kidding when i say greg and the rest of transfer admissions are probably sick of hearing from me. i have been on them since day one haha

cmonnn baaarddd

haha you arent jking, are u?? Dont tell your name next time when you call, I’m afraid they might send your decision letter in the last if they get annoyed.
I’m not inpatient. Im just nervous. Do you think you will make it? transfer admission is really competitive.

naah I was being dramatic. I haven’t called once, just emailed. I don’t think it’ll effect their process. And to answer your other question I’m really not sure. I didn’t apply last year so I’m not sure how they work. I’m hoping my genuine interest in going there will help me out.

another thing-- did you interview as part of your application?

Well to enter my say into the fray -
a) It seems like Bard does not send the rejection letters first.
b) My interview went absolutely incredibly!
c) I received my “Waitlist” letter this morning.

Bard is still the only college that I really ever wish to attend - I’ve been working my way over the course of the last year in an interim school that is really, forever and truly the polar opposite of where I want to be. I applied to several other schools across the board, but Bard refuses to step down from the spotlight, enough so that if this doesn’t turn around, I might face another year at where I am now. So as I’m shifting my feet into the lukewarm boat, any advice?

Yes I had an interview on campus. Silly me!! I put my home address on the application as well as my current mail address. But my family was moving a month ago! I called bard again to let them send the letter to my current mail address. And Yes, they wont send letters to ur school address.

Atlases, you still have a chance on the waitlist. Dont give up.

atlases- the best thing you can do is to let them know that.
i applied to other schools as well and right now my backup seems to be goucher, and i dont think i would be unhappy at goucher, i just know i am better suited to bard, and if i end up in your situation i am going to voice that further.

email them, write them a letter, or call them. remind them that bard is where you want to be, so you may take precedence over those who bard suspects just applied as a backup.

waitlist…
fingers crossed now!!

same, same.

fromaradio,

Do we have a chance to get off the wl? like do u know if there is any transfer get off wl before? I really want to get in!!
The mail says they will review the wl in june… waiting kills me! :(

hey, dude.

so, i emailed greg after receiving the letter and such asking him if they would only start reviewing after june 1st, and he said that they also review before june 1st, because as may contiues, more and more first years will abandon their acceptance as they themselves are removed off waitlists. unfortunately, he also said theyve granted acceptances to people as late as early july. however, toward the middle of july they notify people that they wont be accepting any more students and that the waitlist has dissolved.

furthermore, i asked him where i was on the waitlist, because my mother got me anxious about my chances, and he said that they do not rank their waitlist. its all about finding people that are good fits for bard.

did that help?

genius! I hope us could meet in bard

SO basically there is no way we could do other than waiting…Do we need to send our 2nd semester transcripts to them? what if I didnt do it quite well as of last semester?

i didnt ask about that, but im assuming they take it into account. i asked for my second semester transcripts to be sent in. im sure the grade thing would only effect you negatively if your grades had dropped severely, otherwise, a few points difference in GPA is probably not that big of a deal.

Will the yield rate of freshman and admitted transfers affect their decision on us waitlist?

I mean, yeah. The number of spots available for people on the waitlist are dictated by the amount of freshman/transfers that actually decide to attend bard.
