transfers: graduate in 3 years more realistic?

Hey transfers. Since ERC's advising site went up today, I've been looking at my general and major requirements, and it's all been overwhelming for me at this point. It looks I wont be able to graduate in 2 years. Is graduating in 2 years unrealistic for transfers? <a href="http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/educators/counselors/resources/materials/CC_2007/CC07_Campus_Profile_SanDiego.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/educators/counselors/resources/materials/CC_2007/CC07_Campus_Profile_SanDiego.pdf</a> notes that 72% of transfers graduate in 3 years or less. I would assume maybe a little more than 50% graduate in 2 years, but that's still a low %.

I wonder if I should stop worrying about not graduating in 2 years and just suck it up with a 3 year plan. Me being in ERC doesn't help either so it's pretty much one way unless I want to take 5 classes a quarter and summer sessions. I want to make it easy on myself and take 3 classes for Fall and maybe Spring so I can try to boost my GPA and adjust to UCSD. What do you guys think?

As of now, I'm not sure how to plan my schedule because many of my courses are only available certain quarters, and I can't fit all the ones available Fall into my Fall quarter schedule. Looking at my major's course plan, I would be in the middle of the sophomore year, so I'm like 2 quarters behind their plan. All this stress.. UGH. Oh, and my major is environmental engineering, not easy anyway.

How does your guy's graduation time look? How are you planning your schedule?

I'm shooting for 3, as I'd like to enjoy my time at UCSD. Also, I'd like to study abroad for a bit.

I think the other colleges would allow you to complete most of your GEs and lower division courses in JC wouldn't it? Don't think you can do that with ERC. I mean the way I got it planned out by the time I make it to revelle I'll be a full junior due to having completed all lower division course work.

It took me three years in JC, but to be honest I took a bunch of classes just for kicks, they had nothing to do with the IGETC or tag. I'll end up with probably 90 semester units or more(30 more than the 60 needed) at the time of transfer, so I guess I could have transfered into a junior in two years.

I mean I think it may just be ERC, because any of the other colleges accepts the simple IGETC coursework as a completion of GEs. Lower divison course work depends on your major I suppose, but I think the main problem for you is the choice of college. It sounded like ERC doesn't even accept the IGETC, they require the old tag agreement for completion of GEs. (Which is a whole lot more work than the IGETC)

Being in Muir i'll be on track to graduate Econ in two years.
