Transportation question

if u go to cal poly but live in so cal, do u go home every weekend or do u stay on campus. if u go home then do u take the train or a car or bus? if u dont go home then what are activities to do in san luis obispo (beach, sports, city life??) also is it really worth it to take a car? i mean is the city life close to the campus (walk, bus, or car drive?)

thanks!

I really can't say much about the whole traveling from So.Cal thing, because I'm not familiar with the train/bus situation. I would recommend sticking around most weekends. There's plenty to do here in town. Orientation will show you lots of that. If you're willing to pay permit prices and the cost of ownership of a car, bring it. If not, there's the bus, which goes all over the place, and is free for Cal Poly students. You can walk downtown (its pretty close) or off to Foothill (another good place to go).

Actually, I take it back. I did have to drive down to Santa Barbara to pick up a friend who was stranded by a train there. That's a rare occurrence though (she slept through her stop). So, if you don't mind the train, you can save a few hundred/thousand dollars by not bringing a car. Or, bring a car, and life will be a little more convienient. It could go either way.

SLO Blue Bus is FREE for Poly students. It will take you anywhere in town, and around the outs too...

yes, some people go home everyweek to la or sf.
