transportation - ride sharing question

We live in Maryland. How do the students who live in Maryland get to and from school? Do people frequently share rides? Is there a ride sharing board?

This is the link to the on line ride share board I found on the school's web site. Obviously since my D is not yet an official student, she doesn't have a log in ID, so I can't check beyond the log in, but at least they have a protected web site for this issue.

The ride share board does exist but it's pretty dead. The college does run a free shuttle service at the start and end of breaks, taking students to the local bus station and airport. There are also cab companies if you need a ride elsewhere or at a later time. Most people depend on friends for rides (there are quite a few people from Maryland) but the bus is always an option. I'm not sure about everywhere they go, but they do travel to Philly so getting a connecting bus shouldn't be very difficult. For Christmas break, it is probably best to drive up as they will have to take a lot home.
