I am about to book my thanksgiving tickets, and of course the cheapest option is to fly in and out of Syracuse.

Is there any service between the two airports besides the Ithaca Airport Limo one (that charges like 140 round trip). Does Cornell provide a cheaper option for the holidays? And if I decide to fly back out on the Thursday and back on the Monday (or some other unusual time), would I still be able to find transportation ?

might be tough to get out on thursday and come back monday...

i wouldnt book it...unless you're willing to pay out the wazoo for transportation to syracuse airport (often random if no one else is riding up there)

Actually...last Thanksgiving the SA funded transportation via charter bus for students to Syracuse. I can't remember if it was free...but it was low cost b/c a lot of students took advantage of it. I'd heard they were planning to do this again.

i'm just heading to syracuse to take a flight down to florida, so driving isnt an option. There's a lot of flights that leave wednesday mid-day and come back sunday that are reasonable, but is there any way to know that charter bus cornell funds will be running at those times? would it be running on wednesday morning (even if classes are still going on)?

During 2007 and 2008 holidays (Spring break, thanksgiving, winter break), there was a charter bus which offered rides to Cornell students to and from syracuse for $20 one way. ($40 dollars roundtrip)

I think i read in one of the emails than they would continue providing this service.

Maybe this is off topic, but what is there to do if you stay on campus during Thanksgiving? Because of rising airfares, it seems that going back to CA during Thanksgiving is going to be impossible.
