I don’t know anything about Depauw. Back in the last century a very dear friend of mine graduated from Transylvania. He loved it there. But that is more than 30 years ago, so it may have changed completely since then!
DePauw is heavily Greek - essentially, fraternities control the social life, and there have been problems with drunken excesses. This may be a plus or a minus for you. Academically it’s stronger than Transylvania and it is more selective. The students are quite competitive and tend to be preprofesionnal.
Transylvania has strong academics and Greek life too, but the students are more laid back. An advantage is that it’s located in a big city, near the state flagship, so there’s plenty of student life and activities, plus internship opportunities.
If you’re a junior, apply to both, as well as Rhodes and Centre.
If you’re a senior, compare costs and go to the cheapest one after deducting grants/scholarships.
