Trauma. Anxiety.

Hi guys,

I’m not gonna go in depth but I have anxiety and I’m starting to have regrets about a thing I put in the “additional information” section of my application. I essentially wrote about how I underwent tons of abuse as a kid, so much so that I “continued to wet the bed well into puberty” and other slightly personal information. In the end, I said that I’m much happier and better now.

Please tell me that what I did wasn’t a terrible idea. Tell me that saying that I wet the bed well into puberty doesn’t raise a major red flag. Tell me that everything’s gonna be ok.

Well, there’s no point worrying about it now. If you don’t get in, it won’t be because of what you shared in that section.

The “slightly personal information” was a little TMI for a college application. Fortunately admission officers probably see a lot of TMI. The bright side is that the colleges who accept you are likely to be great fits where you will almost certainly find very supportive environments.
