Travel grants for Admit Weekend?

Has anyone received an e-mail regarding travel grants for admit weekend???

Yep. I believe it’s related to the amount of financial aid you’ll receive. (I’m getting a full ride, and so my flight is free.)

Yup  Still waiting on my finaid info though :/

Yes, I have.

When did you receive the email? I’m pretty sure I qualify for full-ride, but I got an email from financial aid saying my app is incomplete…I hope I can still get grants

Do internationals from obscure and expensive-to-travel-from countries ever get travel grants for the admit weekend?

^ Also wondering this. My interviewer phoned to say well done and mentioned the admit weekend - but I live in the UK and barely had enough money to fund train tickets to my interviews. Anyway, I’m definately not expecting anything, but it would be cool to know.

Also wondering the same issue - travel is going to be exorbitant.

i’d assume so. they haven’t put a limit on airfare for domestic travel, which can be quite expensive as well.

That’d be awesome, although I doubt it, as my expenses would amount to about 1500$, which would be very expensive for attending an admit weekend.

my expenses will be about $600 and I live in New England. Anything’s possible with an endowment like Harvard’s… :)

I probably shouldn’t push it, but its really tempting to ask them.

Yes, it is. However, I guess it probably wouldn’t work out even if I somehow got such a generous grant because US Visa interview appointments in my country are unavailable until May.

Was about to say that. Even if they paid for it, getting a US visa right now will take ages(probably at least a month for me in here.) except for the countries in which you don’t have to go through a visa “process”, like the UK.

True, Bilguun. Didn’t remember the visa requirement.
