Traveling around Stony Brook?

I live about fifteen minutes away from Stony Brook and I plan on taking the train my first year to focus on my studies and get the hang of knowing where everything is on campus and when I visited, I noticed that there were buses that went around campus. My question is, how often do those buses run? Is it likely that I'll miss the bus to get to the other side of campus?

Thanks in advance.

For the most part, every 15 minutes. I wouldn’t hold it to that though.

You also walk from the train station to the library area no problem, its like a 15 minute walk.

how much is the bus fare?

University transportation is free (well, you are paying a small mandatory transportation fee with tuition).

The SB Transit system is extensive. Depending upon stop, it comes every 5-15 minutes.
