I applied to the Pratt School of Engineering, but was informed by the admissions staff that my application would be more competitive in the Trinity School applicant pool. I was accepted (still in shock :D ) to Trinity, but I would still like to persue engineering. I was reassured by the admissions staff that I could transfer to Pratt after freshman year. Since I am currently placed in Trinity, does that mean I cannot take any engineering courses until I transfer sophomore year?

Any responses are appreciated. :D

You can take Egr 53, which is the intro class all Pratt students take freshman year. You can also take the engineering pre-req classes such as physics and math, and chemistry if you want to do BME. Other than these sort of classes, first year Pratt students don’t really take any engineering specific courses other than egr 10 (half credit survey course on engineering) and egr 20 (team based projects for ME). Transfer to Pratt isn’t automatic–they’ll review your first year performance and make a decision.

Awesome! Thank you. :]
