Can engineering students study abroad? Some of the LACs we have visited have let us know that engineering students can not participate in study abroad due to all the necessary requirements. (If they choose to study abroad they can not complete all the requirements within 4 years). There may be summer opportunities, but not semester abroad.

Anyone know if study abroad for engineering students is possible at Trinity?
Thanks.

You are actually allowed to study abroad if you are an engineering major as long as you talk with your advisor and make sure that you will still be able to fulfill all the requirements. Depending on which study abroad program you choose (and there are a lot) you would want to be taking classes for your major while you are abroad so you don’t fall behind and are able to graduate in 4 years.

Do you know this specifically regarding engineering? My S heard from a Trinity student that engineers can not study abroad for a semester (even though there are a lot of study abroad opportunities - they are not engineering related).
He is hoping this student is incorrect, but not sure.

My friend is an engineering major and is currently at Trinidad. So yes you can still study abroad, but you need to plan early and do not fall behind schedule.
