Trinity for a student intersted in business

Hey guys,

I was accepted into Trinity, but the one reason I'm having second thoughts about it is that I'm interested in going into business after college. Any current students want to help me out on this....

Over the past year since I've come to Trinity, I've noticed that A LOT of students majoring in economics go on to business, MBA programs and the like. There are quite a few Trinity alumni in the executive ranks of top corporations and financial companies and they often come to campus to hold forums and establish contacts with students. Career services also offers many internships in the area, especially downtown Hartford which is home to United Technologies, Travelers (soon to be MetLife), Aetna, The Hartford, and others. Try talking to some econ professors or career services to get more information and here's a list of some alumni from the department: http://www.trincoll.edu/Academics/Study/Economics/alumni.htm

For business Trinity is not the way to go. It is too heavily focused on the liberal arts without a real undergradute business program or offering. Your better off elsewhere like a BC or some place that has a defined undergrad business program and is less heavily oriented with the liberal arts.

Where did the idea come from that the only way you can enter the business world is by going to an undergraduate business school? In fact I would argue that you're much better off getting an undergraduate liberal arts degree as you will be much better prepared over the long run to communicate effectively. My son graduated from Trinity two years ago with a degree in History and he's currently working for Deutsche Bank in Manhattan. There is no doubt that having an undergraduate degree from Trinity was instrumental in helping him get his position.

There you ago again, Dunkaroo - you are a tiresome fidget. Trinity has a great econ. dept. and is one of the top feeder schools to grad programs including MBA programs. Can you just give our school a rest? Move on...go trash another school like Babson maybe...Oh, I see you've already have....How are you an expert on anything? Where do you go to school again?

Wall Street Journal lists Trinity as one of the top 50 feeder schools for law, business, and medicine.
