Trinity vs Pratt Regular Decision

I am a white girl applying Regular Decision and I’m not sure If I should do Pratt or not…I know its easier to switch Pratt to Trinity which is why I’m leaning towards Pratt. I want to study computer science or maybe computer engineering, i’m not sure. Which school would i have a better chance?

Here are my stats:

ACT comp: 33
35 E
35 R
33 M
29 S

SAT 2 Math 750
SAT 2 World His 680 (probs wont send)
Will take the december SAT 2 in Bio

STEM Ecs include year long internship at Research facility in comp sci, president of math nhs, web developer of a feminist education club, national techinical honor society

gpa 4.81/4.0

essays are getting there…

If you want to study computer science, apply to Trinity. If you want to study computer engineering, apply to Pratt. Don’t apply to which one you “think” will be easier to get into. While Pratt–>Trinity transfer is easier because it’s simply checking a box, Trinity–>Pratt really isn’t hard either as long as you’ve taken math/science courses and done reasonably well in them. The only engineering course you really must take your freshman year is Engineering 103L. Once you enroll at Duke, you can sign up for whatever you want basically so it wouldn’t matter if you’re in Trinity and change your mind immediately – you can sign up for engineering courses (unless they changed it, which I don’t think they did). Sounds like your passion is comp sci. I’d recommend Trinity and then perhaps taking a single engineering course freshman year to see if you like it. They’ll be more impressed with your application if you skillset/background aligns well with a particular major and see you as a good fit there. But computer engineering certainly isn’t a bad choice either…Here’s an article to help: http://pratt.duke.edu/undergrad/cs-vs-ce

Again, you can always change your mind later. Good luck.
