So I got into the first 4 and got wait listed at the fifth. I was just wondering how they stack up in terms os academic prestige/alumni connections, and also I heard that syracuse also got a lot more selective this year is that true.
Can you list their cost for you by calculating (tuition, fees, room, board) - (scholarships, grants), NOT subtracting any loan?
Can you indicate your parents’ budget?
I would be paying full tuition for all of them, but its not really an issue.
If you want to get off the wait list at Tulane, send them an email indicating your interest, update them on your achievements, and mention that your parents would be willing to be full pay. You may have a shot because your parents are wealthy enough to pay full costs, so if you do get off the waitlist don’t forget to thank them and to pay it forward for those who aren’t as lucky as you are.
Now, Trinity, Syracuse, Chapman, Gettysburg.
Trinity and Gettysburg are similar; Trinity is preppier and located in an urban city, so that you’ve got lots of opportunities to volunteer, and while it’s not easy to get to Hartford, it’s still within driving distance to several major cities; Gettysburg is in an isolated, historical area, but about 3 hours to DC and Baltimore. Trinity has more students from prep schools.
Chapman vs. Syracuse: Chapman has SoCal weather, LA, a beautiful campus, and is academically as strong as Syracuse in the areas Syracuse is strong at (communications being one of them) whereas Syracuse has lake effect weather with tons of snow and biting winds, and the city itself is nothing to write home about. So here, no contest, Chapman.
Thank You that was very helpful.
