As an incoming freshman, which would be better? Will a triple room be too crowded? Or will rooming with two other people be a better experience - not to mention cheaper - than rooming with just one other? Insights please!

Triple would save you a lot of money, but it seriously sucks. Crowded, and if your roommate stinks/dirty hygiene then it’s a real bad situation. You can make it though, I’d just suggest not being in your room all the time and go study in lounges/SRB/library and just being actively out so it doesn’t bother you. I remember being in a lot during fall and when I was out most of the day in winter/spring, I was much happier just to be away

FSSP My daughter just received notice that there will be a third student in her double dorm room. What can we do? San Nicolas rooms are small? We don’t mind paying more.

Tjdabeast - I’m sorry your triple experience sucked so bad. Because mine was pretty amazing. My roommates were really chill and we all got along really well. A lot of the other triples I had in my hall had said the same things - they all really liked their roommates.

I felt a triple was best because the extra roommate can be a mediator between any roommate arguments you might have, as well as an extra connection you automatically have. Regarding crowding, it was a bit crowded, but not enough to hate living there. Personally, it didn’t bother me in the least bit. As long as everyone respects the others’ spaces, it’s not bad at all. There’s enough space for everyone to store their things, but how much everyone brings is relative.

And, of course, it saves a bunch of money, which is a big plus.

Jesecue,

Contact the Housing Department. There are double rooms available. My daughter’s assigned roommate canceled out of the FSSP program the weekend that they were moving-in. My daughter is in a room by herself.
