does anyone know how long kids forced into triples stay in triples? how prevalent is this? (I have hear estimates as high as 75% this year b/c of high yield.) any way around this? are other parents concerned?

Hi,
I can't speak for the upcoming year, but I believe this year everyone who wanted to be "de-tripled" was by the end of the first semester, and many earlier than that. In some cases students choose to stay as triples - they've adapted, become friends, and don't want to have someone leave - and also save $.

I was very concerned about this last year. (I think about half of this past year's freshman class was tripled.) We ended up submitting my daughter's deposit early enough that she managed to get into a double. However, I heard from her that, as Saranac mentioned above, anyone in a forced triple that wanted to be "de-tripled" was able to do so by the end of first semester at the latest.
