Triton Eye...

It is said that at the core of every sterotype, there is a kernel of truth.

Well just how big is this kernel?

Well I don't think it's exclusive to UCSD to be honest. It's the UC system in general, excluding UCSB.

Maybe you should come to campus and check it out for yourself? Price Center and Library Walk during passing times are good people-watching locales.

Just a-wondering. :P
It's not that I'm considering it for a factor in admission, I was just curious to see what others think. LOL, I don't think pretty people are exclusive to UCSB. :D

Nah my point was that let's face it UCB/UCLA/UCSD etc will all have similar looking people haha. not good or bad, but if that's what's causing triton eye it's happening at places outside UCSD too

Heh heh...
I'd like to think that there isn't a negative correlation between intelligence and beauty. :P
I could always be wrong though.

Have you been to UCLA at all oO;; Definitely not that ugly.

Yea, I've heard from people it's not as good as it's said to be, and it's a little overrated. And yea i've been there before lol.

The eye is actually quite big. I think it's green with some blue streaks. Happy Mouse Day.

hmm, if you've been there before then what's it matter what you've 'heard from people'.

Well just going there isn't the whole story. Sometimes it's better to get the opinion of others who spend a bit more time there.

well then what do you guys think?

i went there once, it's definitely above average,but.. i've heard from several friends who ARE UCLA students that that's the case(it's a bit overrated), so don't think i'm just making stuff up out of the blue.

But all i posted in here for was to make the point that the same ppl apply to the same UCs, UCI/UCD/UCB/UCLA/UCSD or whatever, the hotness of the student body shouldn't vary that much..a little, but not that much. most of you guys are simply avoiding that argument as that's like the 3rd time i repeated myself without it being addressed, so i think my work here is done and it's pointless for me to continue :D. that's my opinion, and that's that i guess. i'm done with this thread.

^Well to a certain point one could argue that the image that UCSB seemingly conjures up in all our minds as a party school with beautiful women and a lax SoCal atmosphere is, for the most part, also overrated. I think there's a decent balance at UCLA between smarts and looks. Obviously you don't get a lot of either, but it beats the extremes on one end with 'SB, and the other with Cal/sorta 'SD.

As for your point about the same applicant pool, I've known a lot of people that will go to UCSB just because it has a supposedly accommodating party scene despite having to turn down 'SD. When you build certain kinds of reputations, people gravitate towards going to that school to be part of that image.

Right, and I know a lot of people who are not applying to SB because they don't want to get into the party scene.

There is no such thing as "Triton Eye"....

It is hard to consistently judge because every year it changes..... as MORE students come in and MORE students graduate....

On the word, UCLA girls are hotter than UCSB girls....and SMARTER!!

The Triton Eye is very real and consistently reoccurring.

How do you judge if a girl is a "Triton Eye" or not ?

A girl can't be a Triton Eye. Look up the definition before you ask such silly questions.

I know what the "definition" of a Triton eye is and in the dictionary it states a disease caused by ugly girls at UCSD.

But my question was how do you judge if a girl is a Triton Eye or not. In other words, what are some particular attributes that one girl must fall to be classified as a Triton Eye? That is why I believe Triton Eye is a big myth

Ok Breakdown:
UCB: all-around DECENT looking ppl to overall not that goodlooking,
UCI: Best looking Asians by far
UCSD: all around maybe a little better looking than berkeley
UCLA: Best looking ppl outa the top 4 UCs
UCD: Actually pretty goodlooking

If there wasnt a typical correlation with grades and beauty, then why do most models go to Cal States?
