What can I do if I forgot my WMuserid? I need it to pay my deposit and the page to activate my account is not working.

My daughter says it’s first initial, middle initial, and as much of the last name as will fit in the blank. She can’t remember her password… I posted on a different thread on this, but hope the admissions folks will respond. I’ll copy the post over here as well.

Below is the post I put up on another thread, asking the W&M admissions folks for help. Since then, she’s gotten advice from another student on the user name issue, but can’t remember her password.

W&M admission folks – I’m not sure where to post to reach you quickly, so I may try multiple places. Apologies in advance if I wind up cross posting.

My daughter is trying to pay her deposit so that she can officially become a member of the class of 2017!

When she goes to the Deposit and Activate site at William & Mary -*Deposit and clicks on “Activate your W&M userid” she gets the following message:

A Database Error Occurred
Unable to connect to your database server using the provided settings.
Filename: core/Loader.php
Line Number: 232

The website reports a problem with database data she’s entered, except she hasn’t entered any data. It’s possible she’s made a mistake along the way, but we can’t figure out what it might be. Could you please check this? She’d like to become an official member of the class of 2017!

Thanks!!
Arlmom2 is online now

thanks for keeping me updated! I think I’ve got my username figured out. I found this website: [William & Mary - Passwords & Logins FAQ](http://www.wm.edu/offices/it/services/accounts/faqsloginpassword/index.php)

and it says to call a number if you’ve forgotten your password. I’m going to try that now

She tried that but it didn’t work. Understandably, they’re not answering on Sunday.

Your W&M ID is usually your first initial, your middle initial and your last name but there are exceptions. It was printed at the bottom of your decision letter so it should be easily accessible to you. You don’t need a password to activate your account. You just need your user ID and W&M 93 number. You then establish your own password.

We did see the error on the page you mentioned. That part of our server must be down or having a problem. Please call our Information Technology Department after 8:00am tomorrow and they’ll be able to help.

W&M admission – Thanks so much for the speedy response – it’s especially appreciated on a Sunday evening! Unfortunately, she hasn’t been able to find a way in around the page with the error, even with her userid and W&M student number.

I’m sure she will find a way to work this out tomorrow. Thanks again for your help – your presence on these pages has been reassuring and informative throughout her application and decision process!

The site is back up and running as it should be so you should be able to activate your account and then pay your deposit online.

W&M Admission – Thanks for the help! She was able to get through to the IT folks this morning, and paid her deposit. She’s officially a member of W&M class of 2017, and is really excited about being there this fall!

@Arlmom2, glad to hear it!

Posted this in another thread - after you pay your deposit, and receive email confirmation, how long before you can then set up your WM email, etc.? Assume there is some delay. Thanks.

@Woody, we responded to this in the other thread you posted to.
