Truman State University to allow pets in dorms

"Truman State University in Kirksville is creating a “pet-friendly living space” for its students.

The college will allow students who wish to bring pets on-campus to hole up with their furry friends beginning in Fall 2020.

The first floor of Dobson Hall will serve as designated pet-friendly housing.

Cats and smaller dogs will be allowed to dorm with their owners, as will certain cage-kept animals like gerbils, guinea pigs, hamsters and rabbits." …

Sounds great on paper, but I worry about the pets. Cats and caged animals might do great, but it’s hard to imagine a dog thriving in one small room. Maybe there will be an adjacent dog park that is easy enough for students to take their dogs there often, but I don’t know. I guess I don’t have faith that most college freshman know about the reality of being 100% responsible for a pet.

I think there is a small college in FL that allows pets, too.
