I have foreign credentials and applied as a transfer to a few public universities in Texas. Apparently , I got acceptance from UT Dallas but I am not sure whether its right for me to be there or not.

Since all my credentials are foreign, the adviser told me that I need to petition my courses . I was fully sure that a lot of my credits will transfer easily since the course description was literally the same.

However until just a few days ago I received a shocking news that one of course got rejected. I really don't understand why and I'm trying to inquire with them regarding this issue.

The other courses are still under review.

SO my confusion is , do universities have different transferring policies?
Is it a possibility that one university might not give me credit but another might give me?

Each institution sets its own policies about which credits to accept for transfer. There is no easy way to predict this. You really do have to ask each place separately. If some credits don’t transfer, you can petition for a review of the specific coursework. You will need to show the course syllabus, the texbooks and other materials, your notes, and all of your graded work from that class.

Yes you are right . I am trying to petition for an overview at UTD .
The issue with me is that I can only try for universities which are in Texas.

I also tried my luck in applying to UT AUSTIN and TAMU,and I got rejected by both.

Moreover, I have about 50% of my major coursework done (international),and international cumulative gpa is 2.62 ,(i dont know why but TAMU deducted my gpa and made into 2.49)

I haven’t done my core curriculum yet and I still have to complete a lot of classes .

In the fall 2011 semester , i took four classes of the core curriculum
(english…government…etc) and I managed to get a commulative 3.5 gpa of the four courses.

Do you think I should reaaply to Tamu or austin on the basis of that? Will my chances improve considering that I did 4 additional course with 3.5 ovreall gpa?
