Won't be taking Calculus AB course - going directly to BC. Will have 7 AP courses/tests at end of junior year:

Bio, World History, American History, English, Chemistry, Physics B, Calculus BC

Should I take the Calculus AP AB test just to get my number to 8 and qualify for National AP Scholar? My other option is to self-study Env Sci and take that one. Which would be easier?

OK. Sounds like Calculus AB is ‘out’ for me.

Feel good about the Bio and World Hist I took this week. Looks like my choices are to self-study one of the three below. Which is easiest to self-study:

Self study Environmental or Human Geography. I think ES requires less work 5, even though I studied more for it. Psych is also an option. Anyway, since you asked about Environmental Science, I’d advise doing that.

I can only speak for Psych, but Psych was mucho easy. You only need about 20-30 hours of studying spaced out over a few weeks to a month or two to get a solid 5.

the AB subscore doesn’t count as an AP score and doesnt work for the awards. I actually am trying for this as well. I took 7 AP’s last year (sophomore) and got 6 5’s, and I took 6 more AP’s this year. All I need is 2 4’s for the award

The easiest self study tests are by far Psych, ESci, Human Geo, and any languages you take already (so if you are in Spanish 4, taking the AP Language test wouldn’t be too hard).

Definitely self study psychology - the multiple choice is largely vocabulary based and so are the FRQs. The Barron’s review book has everything you need to get a five, just read through it a week in advance and possibly make flash cards.
