Trying to become a teacher, but my GPA SUCKS

I am 17 and am in running start at community college. My first quarter I did excellent, I got a 3.9 in Psych 100 and a 3.3 in Political Science. But the next quarter I only got a 2.4 in Eng 101, F in College success (I know I ****ed up the class was online and I totally blew it off), and a 1.9 In Media (I worked for hours in this class the instructor was a dbag). Quarter after that I did good I got a 3.5 in Health, 3.6 in Eng 102, and 3.9 in Alochol Chemical Dependency. However I took that quarter at a different college and just transferred back so it didn't help out my GPA at all! :(. I just took Int. Algebra over the summer and scored a 3.5

My current College level GPA is only a 2.5.....:(
Im planning to transfer to a university to major in education but I'm freakin out about my GPA. I still have a little over a year left at the community college... Will doing good in all my future classes be enough? Im freaked that I've already screwed my chances. Im retaking the class I failed in fall, (in person this time) and am also taking Chemistry and Pre-Calc. Any advice or have you ever been in a similar situation? Thanks

Some colleges and education programs will only look at your major for the last 45 credit hours (quarter system) or 60 hours (semester system), and if this GPA is higher than your cumulative GPA, then they will use it. Your re-taken classes will help. Study hard, and ask your professors for letters of recommendations. Transfer Admittance Committees will be looking for experiences in your field of study as well. Have you volunteered with children at all? If not, then you should look into doing so. Research the school(s) that you are applying to, the education department, and the area of teaching that you would like to go into. Your essays will be your chance to really illustrate why you are a good candidate for the education program that you have in mind. Also think about your long-term goals, even after you get your Bachelor’s degree.
